Mini Pouch Keychain

a pattern by Brenda πŸ’œ

A small ribbed pouch with a button flap and a tassel β€” sized for AirPods.

🧺 You'll need

πŸ“– Cheat sheet: ch = chain Β· sc = single crochet

How to chain (ch) β–Ύ
1 Make a slipknot. Tie a slip knot and poke the crochet hook through it.
2 Hold yarn & hook. Hook in one hand; drape the ball-end of the yarn over the fingers of your other hand so it feeds with light tension.
3 Wrap the yarn. Wrap the yarn around the hook once β€” behind the hook, then up and over.
4 Pull through. Pull the hook through the slip knot, bringing the wrapped yarn with it β€” that's your first chain.
5 Repeat. Wrap and pull through the loop until you have the number of chains the pattern asks for.
How to single crochet (sc) β–Ύ

The stitch

How to single crochet (sc) β€” Insert the hook
1 Insert the hook. Place your hook through the stitch β€” for this pattern, under the front loop only.
2 Catch the yarn. Hook the yarn so it faces you.
3 Pull it back. Pull the yarn back through the stitch. Two loops on your hook now.
4 Catch it again. Yarn over the hook once more.
5 Pull through both. Pull the yarn through both loops on your hook. One single crochet made.
6 Keep going. Move to the next stitch along and repeat β€” insert, catch, pull, catch, pull through both.

Turning for the next row

1 Chain 1 & turn. At the end of a row, chain 1, then flip your work around to head back the other way.
2 Find the next stitch. Skip the stitch closest to the hook and work into the next one.
3 Insert & continue. Poke the hook through the top of that stitch, front to back, and single crochet as usual.
