Mini Pouch Keychain

🧶 Part 1 · Colour 1 · cream Main Body

1. Row 1: chain 19.
2. Row 2: single crochet in the 2nd chain from the hook and in each chain across (18 sc total). Then chain 1 and turn your work.
3. Rows 3–30: single crochet in the front loop only of each stitch across (28 rows total). Chain 1 and turn your work after each row. 💡 Working the front loop only creates a cute ribbed texture ;) Count your stitches every few rows — each row should still have 18, or the edges start slanting.
4. At the end of Row 30, cut the yarn leaving a short tail and pull it through the last loop to secure — this is your knot.

🎀 Part 2 · Colour 2 · lavender Flap

1. Join Colour 2: insert your hook into the first stitch of Row 30, pull a loop of the new yarn through, and tie a small knot to secure it to the old yarn end.
2. Chain 1 (does not count as a stitch), then single crochet across the row in the front loop, just like the main body.
3. Chain 1, turn your work, and repeat for a total of 7 rows.
4. Fasten off, cut the yarn, and leave a tail for weaving in.

🪡 Part 3 Seaming into a Pouch + Button

You'll be closing the piece up now, and it will start shaping into a little pouch :D

1. Set up the fold: lay the piece flat, Colour 1 side down, with the Colour 2 flap facing up and away from you.
2. Fold the bottom edge of Colour 1 up so it meets the first row of the Colour 2 section, wrong sides together. 💡 This fold forms the pouch body — the remaining Colour 2 rows stay unfolded and become the flap that closes over the top.
3. Join the yarn: using Colour 2, insert your hook into the bottom-right corner through both layers (folded body + flap). Pull a loop through, tie a small knot to secure the join, then chain 1 (doesn't count as a stitch).
4. Seam the right side: single crochet evenly along the right edge, working through both layers each time, until you reach the top fold (where the body ends and the flap begins).
5. Cross onto the flap: keep single crocheting, but now only through the single layer of the flap. Continue across the top edge, counting stitches, until you've made 9 single crochets.
6. Make the button loop: stop after that 9th stitch and chain 3 — these chains form the loop. Skip the next stitch on the flap (this leaves the gap the loop sits over), then sc into the following stitch. 💡 The loop should roughly match your button — if it's bigger, chain 4 instead of 3. It's ok to adapt and improvise!
7. Finish the flap edge: continue single crocheting across the rest of the flap, all the way to the left edge of the pouch.
8. Close the left seam: continue down the left side, single crocheting through both layers, same as the right side.
9. Fasten off by making a knot, and cut the yarn.
10. Sew a button onto the front of the pouch body so it lines up with the chain loop when the flap folds down.

💫 Part 4 Tassel

1. Hold 4 fingers together in front of you. Wrap yarn around them until the bundle is about 1–2 cm thick. Hold the tail with your thumb, then cut the yarn from the ball.
2. Carefully slide the wrapped loops off your fingers.
3. Cut a separate 10 cm piece of yarn, fold it in half to make a loop, and slip that loop through the top of the wrapped bundle.
4. Pull the loop snug and tie a knot to cinch the top of the tassel — this loop attaches to your keyring later.
5. Cut a long separate strand of yarn and wrap it tightly around the bundle, about 2 cm below the top knot, 5–6 times.
6. Tie it off with a secure knot, then thread the tail end down through the wraps.
7. Trim the bottom loops of the tassel evenly to your desired length.

🔑 Part 5 Finishing

1. Attach the tassel's top loop to your keyring or clasp.
2. Attach the keyring/clasp to one of the side seams or a corner stitch of the pouch by tying a knot.
3. Weave in any remaining loose ends.
